Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and GOATWOAT when you use the site. By using GOATWOAT, and especially by creating an account, you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use the service.

1. Who we are

GOATWOAT is the website at www.goatwoat.com, run by GoatWoat Services. “We” and “us” mean the operator; “you” means you, the user.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• Give accurate details and keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for activity under your account.
• One person, one account. Don’t impersonate anyone or choose a handle you have no right to use.

3. Using GOATWOAT

GOATWOAT is for creating and voting on lists, for fun. You agree not to:

• post unlawful, hateful, harassing, defamatory or infringing content;
• upload images you don’t have the right to use;
• vote fraudulently, manipulate rankings with fake or automated accounts, or otherwise game votes or duels at scale;
• scrape, overload, hack or disrupt the service, or bypass our security or rate limits;
• use GOATWOAT to spam or to harvest other people’s data.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the lists, entries and text you create. However, to run the site you grant us a perpetual, non-expiring, irrevocable, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free (free) licence to store, display, distribute and use that content as part of GOATWOAT (for example, showing your public list to other visitors). You confirm you have the rights to everything you post, including images, and that it doesn’t break these terms.

This licence continues even if you delete your account. When you delete your account we remove your personal details, but the lists you created and the votes on them are kept and shown as authored by “Anonymous” (see section 8).

5. Content and moderation

We can remove content or lists that break these terms, and suspend or close accounts that misuse the service. We may also remove content in response to a valid legal complaint.

6. Availability

GOATWOAT is provided “as is”. We work to keep it running but can’t promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, and the rankings are for entertainment only. We may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time.

7. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for content posted by other users. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can’t be limited by law.

8. Ending things

You can stop using GOATWOAT and delete your account at any time (Profile → Account → Delete account). When you do, we remove your personal details; as described in section 4, the lists you created and the votes on them are kept and shown as authored by “Anonymous”. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; we’ll change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use GOATWOAT means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction.
